A seasoned physician practice management consultant with more than thirty years of diverse, professional health care experience, including more than 18 years’ management of practices in internal medicine, multi-specialty, infectious diseases and cardiology. Diane worked for approximately eight years in the managed health care industry, serving for three years as a field representative before being promoted to Department Manager and then to Director of Provider Relations, where she and her team oversaw all physician recruiting, physician contracting and physician education.
Ms. Cook’s notable successes as a practice administrator in multiple practices of different specialties and as Director of Provider Relations for a managed health care organization led to her employment by the Texas Medical Association (TMA) as Senior Practice Management Consultant. After employment with TMA, she served for over 10 years as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a large cardiology group in Abilene. Duties involved overseeing all operations, budgets, contracts, employees, facilities and physicians.
Her special expertise includes practice operations, financial analysis, electronic health record implementation, staff and physician recruitment, practice efficiencies, process improvements, human resources, and new practice set ups, both large and small. She has been a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) and a certified HIPAA Compliance Officer. Also, she has been a member of Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), Academy of Certified Medical Professional Executives (ACMPE), American Institute of Healthcare Compliance (AIHC). Diane’s undergraduate studies were at The University of Texas at Austin and St. Edwards University. Ms. Cook and her husband live in Austin, Texas. She enjoys photography, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her husband and four granddaughters.
